Your first stop in Nepal is Kathmandu. A fine mix of age-old traditions and culture, Kathmandu boasts of medieval temples & Buddhist monasteries, the heritage of Durbar square and the largest stupa in Nepal, Boudhanath Stupa. No trip to Nepal is complete without the ritualistic dips in Bagmati River.

KATHMANDU to POKHARA
Choose to fly or take a car ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Today we have arranged your visit to Phewa Lake or locally known as Phewa Tal. This is the second largest lake in Nepal and surrounded by dense forests called the Queen’s forest, birds and one of the top 10 highest mountains in the world – Annapurna range. On a clear day, you see the reflection of the mountains in the water.

POKHARA-LUMBINI
As Dalai Lama also said, “Have courage. You can do anything you set your mind to.” We will early and trek to Sarangkot peak for the world’s famous sunrise spot, with a backdrop of the equally famous mountain peak for an experience that cannot be expressed in few words. Then a boating trip in Phewa Lake plus an exclusive tour of Pokhara town – its food, mountaineering culture, sense of the local life – a Tibetan refugee camp. Eat and pray with them, You can thank us later.

LUMBINI-SRAVASTI
Explore the murderer road to enlightenment – ever thought of the possibility of change in the most extreme case where ‘Angulimal’, a serial killer who wore garlands of bloody fingers? It so happened that he chose to live the life of a monk later when he encountered Lord Buddha. You will now be entering the second home of Buddha, Jetavana Monastery where he gave the majority of his teachings – 19 out of the 45 vassas. The Anandabodhi Tree, which is the second holiest tree in Buddhist religion is also located here.

SRAVASTI-KUSHINAGAR
Kushinagar is another famous ancient site for stupas and temples. It is home to the Mahaparinirvana Temple that houses the 6 m long statue of the reclining Buddha. The Ramabhar Stupa, also known as the Nirvana Stupa, is the site where Buddha is believed to have been cremated exactly at the spot after his death in 483 BC.

KUSHINAGAR-VARANASI
Today, we will be travelling by car and make sure that every minute of yours spent there count. Sarnath is one of the four most important sites in the Buddhist Pilgrimage tour. The name Sarnath is derived from a Sanskrit word that means Lord of the Deer. This is our first stop 10 km northeast of Varanasi, where Gautam Buddha gave his very first sermon in the Deer Park after achieving enlightenment at Bodhgaya. Discover the Dhamekha Stupa that stands 128 feet high and 93 feet in diameter that can accommodate 1500 monks.

VARANASI-BODHGAYA
With the first rays of the morning sun, you will be touring Varanasi on a boat. It’s a boat ride on the holy river Ganges, where you get to experience watching the ancient city across the ghats. And, then we either fly, ride or take the train to the eastern state, Bihar that is home to one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage site – Bodhgaya. Take some time out and meditate because “nothing teaches you to appreciate the magic of everyday life like being in a new place.”

BODHGAYA
The slower we drive today, the more we are going to really enjoy it. This day we drive from Thekkady to Kochi in a private car. Roughly about 180 km and a 5-6 hour scenic drive through houseboats, paddy fields, picturesque streets, tea factories and lakes, is a treat for nature lovers. In fact, driving anywhere in Kerala can offer the most picturesque background. So, believe us that you are in for a special treat for your eyes. Sit back and relax.

BODHGAYA-RAJGIR-NALANDA-BODHGAYA
Start our tour with the visit to the famous Bimbisar Prison. The legend says that Ajatashatru built this prison to imprison his father Bimbisara. Next is the Vulture Peak or Gridhkutta Hill in Rajgir, which was a popular place of retreat for Buddha and his followers. “Then, together with the assembly of monks, I appear on Holy Eagle Peak.” Kalchakra Museum, now known as Venuvanaram is the new home of the Bodhisatva Tree, the first tree where in three nights and three days, then Siddhartha attained enlightenment. Our last stop in Nalanda would be the Nalanda University a large Buddhist monastery, and the ancient kingdom of Magadha that has been a learning centre from the fifth century CE to c. 1200 CE
